Actress Mahluga Alesker kizi Sadigova was born on April 28, 1917 in the city of Shusha in the family of a baker.

After graduating from high school in Baku, in 1935-1936, Mahluga studied at the Faculty of Dental Technology of the Gadirli Medical School. At the same time, she performed as an amateur actress, singer and dancer in the amateur circle of the school.

In 1936-1992, Mahluga Sadigova performed on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater, and in 1992-2003 on the Baku Municipal Theater stage.

Mahluga Sadigova played the role of Yengya (the woman who accompanies the bride to her fiance’s house on the wedding day) in the play “Vagif” by the Azerbaijani poet Samed Vurgun more than 800 times, and more than 400 times the role of Peri in the play (“Withered Flowers”) by the Azerbaijani playwright Jafar Jabbarli.

Mahluga Sadigova performed roles in the following plays: Firangiz, Nadia (“Oktay Eloglu”), Sona (“In 1905”), Yahshi (“Almas”), Gulush (“Sevil”) by Jafar Jabbarli; Fitna (“Farhad and Shirin”) by Samad Vurghun, Zahra (“Sheikh Sanan”) by Azerbaijani poet Huseyn Javid, Salima and Shamama Jadu (“Peri Jadu”) by Azerbaijani writer Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev; Isabella (“The Maid of Orleans”) by the German poet Friedrich Schiller, Mrs. Dudgeon (“The Devil’s Disciple”) by the Irish novelist Bernard Shaw, Paulina (“The Winter’s Tale”) by William Shakespeare, Constance (“A Funny Case”) by the Italian playwright Carlo Goldoni, etc.

For many years, Mahluga Sadigova hosted the program “Bulag” on Azerbaijani radio together with Azerbaijani actor, Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR Samandar Rzayev.

Mahluga Sadigova played in the following films: “The Unconquered Battalion”1965 (shop owner), “The Casket” 1973 (mother), “The Winds Blow in Baku” 1974 (Solmaz’s mother), “If we are together” 1975. (Medina), etc.
On July 21, 1949, Mahluga Sadigova was awarded the title of Honored Artist, and on January 10 (11), 1978, People’s Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR. The actress was also elected a deputy of the Baku City Council of Working People.
